Here is a reprint of an article from April 2008 IDEA Fitness Journal stating that results of research conducted shows that the type of training we do (freeform) has advantages over fixed equipment (traditional gym machines).
The freeform had twice as much strength improvement as the fixed (115% vs 57%). Additionally, the fixed had an increase of 111% in joint pain vs freeform's decrease of 30%. Freeform had an increase of 245% in balance whereas fixed only had 49%.
